ReadQuestions homeowners ask us
Should I buy the flooring myself or through the installer?
Either. Buying through the installer usually gets contractor pricing, the right quantity with waste, matching trim and nosings from the same lot, and one party responsible if a box is defective. Labor-only installs are quoted the same way; order after the measure so quantities are right.
How much extra should I order?
Five to ten percent over the measured area for straight-lay, more for patterns and rooms with many angles, plus a box for the attic. Opened boxes are often not returnable.
